Courtesy Pay
Courtesy Pay may cover you up to $1,000 (including fees)
Courtesy Pay is an optional service available to eligible members. If you don’t have enough money in your account, Courtesy Pay may cover certain transactions, allowing them to be paid and resulting in an overdraft fee. If a transaction is returned unpaid because there are insufficient funds, you may be charged a Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee instead. Courtesy Pay eligibility, transaction types, and limits apply.
Things to know about share overdrafts and fees:
Courtesy Pay fees will not exceed five (5) per day.
An overdraft occurs when there isn’t enough money in an account to cover a purchase, but we may pay it at our discretion with a $32 courtesy pay fee.
By opting-in to courtesy pay, we may authorize and pay overdrafts on purchases, ATM transactions or one-time debit card transactions. You can opt-in or out of this service at any time.
We DO NOT authorize and pay overdrafts for ATM transactions or one-time debit card transactions unless you opt-in for that service.
A Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee is charged each time an item is presented against NSF funds. The payee (or the payee’s institution) may represent a previously returned item. Each presentment against insufficient funds will result in a separate fee.
Business Courtesy Pay
Business Courtesy Pay can help keep your business running smoothly. Business accounts are automatically be enrolled into Courtesy Pay. If a transaction is paid through Business Courtesy Pay, an overdraft fee will apply. If the transaction is returned unpaid, an NSF fee may be charged instead. One (1) courtesy pay service will be provided per EIN/TIN/SSN.
Protect-a-Check Line of Credit
If you spend more money than is available in their checking account, Protect-a-Check (Overdraft Protection Line of Credit) automatically transfers the exact amount needed to cover the transaction up to the available funds or credit limit with no service charge, using a line of credit called Protect-a-Check. You must apply for this line of credit and eligibility, transaction types, and limits apply. Apply now

While Blue offers a wide variety of checking account overdraft protection, we also want to help our members become financially secure. We’ve compiled a helpful list to help you prevent overdrafts on your account.
Helpful tips to prevent overdrafts on your account:
If you don’t have enough money in your account, one of two things may happen. If Courtesy Pay covers the transaction, it will be paid and you’ll be charged an overdraft fee. If the transaction is returned unpaid, you may be charged a Non-Sufficient Funds (NSF) fee instead.
Blue’s online banking allows you to check your balances at any time. We also have a secure mobile app so you can check your balance, transfer funds, and even deposit checks on the go!
Set up automatic deposit to ensure that funds are promptly deposited into your accounts. Contact us today to help set up your direct deposit.
Review monthly account statements on a regular basis. These are available through online banking if you’ve signed up for eStatements or by mail if you have enrolled in paper statements. Fees may apply for receiving paper statements.
