Celebrating 27 Years at Blue: A Fond Farewell to Kathy Bailey

After 27 years of dedication, growth, and meaningful relationships, we’re honoring the retirement of Blue Federal Credit Union’s Dealer Relationship Manager, longtime team member, and cherished colleague—Kathy Bailey.

Kathy’s journey began on December 1, 1998, back when we were still Warren Federal Credit Union. At the time, we were a close-knit team of just 30–35 employees with approximately $100 million in assets—and Kathy was stepping into the credit union world for the first time. She brought with her 17 years of experience in the auto industry, having worked closely with dealerships through GMAC (General Motors Acceptance Corporation), along with a deep understanding of dealer relationships.

When GMAC closed its Cheyenne office, Kathy took on a new challenge—building Warren FCU’s indirect dealer program from the ground up. Over the years, she watched that program grow, evolve, and strengthen, becoming one of the accomplishments she’s most proud of during her time at Blue.

Some of Kathy’s favorite memories come from the early days, when Blue was smaller and connections were built face to face, every single day. She valued the chance to truly know her coworkers—not just as teammates, but as people—and to form friendships that extended far beyond the workplace. Those relationships didn’t stop at our doors; Kathy also built lasting connections with many of the dealerships she worked with, friendships she continues to value deeply.

As she reflects on her career, what she’ll miss most is the Blue family—the coworkers, dealer partners, and everyday conversations that became part of her rhythm. While she plans to stay in touch, she knows nothing quite replaces those regular check-ins and shared moments along the way.

Looking ahead, Kathy is excited for what retirement holds: more time with her husband, Yogi; her sons, Brandon (and his wife Priscilla) and Cody (and his significant other Abigail); and her beloved crew of animals—Barnum the Beagle, Chloe the cat, and her “grand-animals.” She’s also looking forward to camping, gardening, traveling, and discovering just how full life can be when time opens up.

Above all, Kathy is deeply grateful for her 27 years at Warren/Blue Federal Credit Union—years filled with purpose, relationships, and the opportunity to retire doing work she truly loved.
