Our Success is Due to Your Continued Membership!

Blue Federal Credit Union would not exist without you and your membership and we want to celebrate this incredible milestone with you.

Celebrate 70 Years of Serving our Communities.

You are the reason we have the opportunity to celebrate our past, our growth, and continue to grow. You help us continue to invest in our communities.

We are Celebrating our Upcoming 70th Anniversary with our Generations of Blue Campaign.

The premise is simple - each month, a different decade of members will be celebrated
(the decades represent the date you became a member, not your birth year) following the outline below:

  • DECEMBER: 2010-2020
  • JANUARY: 2000-2009
  • FEBRUARY: 1990-1999
  • MARCH: 1980-1989
  • APRIL: 1970-1979
  • MAY: 1960-1969
  • JUNE: 1951-1959

At the end of each month, a lucky member from the decade will be automatically entered to win $500 to say ‘Thank You’ from Blue.

We will also feature stories about the credit union and our members from each decade.

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for offering a place for members to say "thanks" and the opportunity to share member stories..

I wanted to take a moment to say thank you for offering a place for members to say "thanks" and the opportunity to share member stories. My story isn't a show stopper, however, it is one of longevity thanks to my parents. My account number is a mere 4 digits long and I've become used to entering 6 "filler" zero's when adding my account number in places needed. Through the years, Blue Federal Credit Union was known to my Boulder family as Boulder Municipal Employees FCU, Community Financial Credit Union and now Blue. Although the names have changed, the employees, customer service and genuine positive presence has been unwavering. Although 2020 has proven to be a very challenging year, I wish you all a very happy holiday season.

I remember having a membership to this bank before I was even working..

I remember having a membership to this bank before I was even working. My parents have been going through this bank for years. So has all 4 of my sisters and has never changed banks. I’m 20 years old and I’m planning on staying with this bank for a long long time. I’ve never had any problems with this bank and I am forever grateful for that! Thank you Blue for all that you do!

Reaching the ripe age of 70 as a credit union is a great accomplishment and we (Jenny and I) are glad that we have been members of Blue (and Warren Federal Credit Union before that) for over 40 years...

From helping us with mortgages and loans, credit cards, checking, savings and investments I think we have touched almost all that Blue has to offer. But nothing has been better than the great service over the years. We moved to northern Wyoming about 10 years ago. But Blue is still there for us with the ease of computer on-line banking we still are glad for our relationship. And in our trips to Cheyenne and points south we often drop in to conduct business personally. Always with warm greetings.

Thanks for the $500 celebration gift and for the years of friendly service. Time for us to go celebrate!"

"I joined the Rocky Flats Credit Union in 1986 when I was a summer intern at Rocky Flats...

My then-boyfriend also worked at Rocky Flats. We married in 1987 and have had a joint account ever since. Of course, the name changed a few times, but it has always been our credit union. Our children have also been lifelong members, as I opened accounts for them when they were born. We bought savings bonds through payroll deduction. These bonds were held until the kids went to college. I think my son even has a joint account with his wife now.

Back then, the credit union hosted a Santa Claus event every year. We waited in line for a couple of hours each year, but the kids got to sit on Santa's lap and he gave them each a gift. Most years, the gift was a stuffed animal which we still have and display each year. One year, the gift was a decorated tin can bank. Again, we still have these banks. And of course, we have the photographic evidence of happy and/or crying babes sitting with Santa. We looked forward to the Santa visits every year and were sad when they ended.

Another nice benefit for the kids was the Piggly Club. The kids were able to get prizes for accumulating a certain number of deposits. "Shopping" for the prizes was serious business!!!

I would never consider leaving Blue. We've been members our whole adult life. We do use Shared Branching now, but still pop into the Lafayette or Broomfield branch when we are in the area.

Thanks for 35 years of good service. We look forward to another 35! Ha! That would make us really REALLY OLD!!

"While still on Active Duty with the Army, I was stationed in Casper. When setting up my Military Pay it was suggested to use Warren AFB Bank...

Key factors in choosing Warren was Direct Deposit, Free Checking (including check blanks), no fees or additional charges for services. Reluctantly, or more like with some doubt, I opened my account at Warren in Jan 1985. As it turned out, it was the best move.

The initial transaction from DFAS to Warren went very well. From that time forward, regardless of any task (such as transfers, protections, savings, etc. no problems occurred. I had learned that with Army pay, "if it isn't broken, don't fix it". During the next several years, I found myself all over the world, needing banking access. I never had a problem with writing a check anywhere, being accepted even in Korea. If I had any doubt, Warren was just a phone call away, and rarely did that call have to be made.

With me being transferred to new duty station's several times, all I had to do was give Warren my new address and phone number, and business went on uninterrupted. Without any hesitations, I recommended Warren to other servicemen and friends. Still do by the way. When Warren became Blue, some changes came with it, but nothing to merit changing Banks.

Upon my retirement in 2002, Blue still met my expectations and the service from the beginning to this date has been top notch. I do not see any reason to go somewhere else. I will remain with Blue until the end, then it doesn't matter.

I salute Blue for the many years of outstanding service to me."

"My story spans several decades. First, we joined the Blue family (F.E. Warren FCU) back in 1986 while stationed at F.E. Warren A.F.B...

We had been married for 5 years and just transferred back from back to back overseas assignments. I was pregnant with our first child due in Oct 1986. We had several issues with the bank we were banking with and were very unhappy, so we switched. No matter where we moved in our career, we always had F.E. Warren FCU as our bank. From Germany to Mississippi to Alaska to Alabama we never wavered and kept our bank with Warren. They were there to help out and we never had any banking issues. We retired in Alabama in 2005 after 28 years with the Air Force. Unfortunately, my story took a drastic turn a few years later as my husband of 28 years wanted a divorce. I cannot begin to tell you the feelings and emotions I was dealing with at the time. So here we are now in the 2008 timeframe and I had to separate myself from my spouse after 28 years. All of the folks I talked with at Warren guided me with much patience and understanding during this rough time. We closed and opened my own account, arranged for my sure pay for my GS salary, and eventually when all was done and the divorce was final my share of his retirement. Needless to say, I have loved all these years with this fantastic group of folks. transition into when it became Blue - it was seamless and I continued to receive the best advice and all of my needs were met. Even before mobile banking became so readily available, the customer support folks helped me find a way to deposit any checks I needed to get into my account via a sister service credit union. Needless to say, I have continued to bank with Blue even though my original bank account was in Wyoming and I live in Alabama. Words cannot express how much the support and services that Blue continues to offer to me. Any problems or issues that I have had have been resolved to the best of your ability. Thanks for all you have done for me over the last 39 years. I guess you could say I married in one decade and divorced in another decade..... as they say in the movies, "Thanks for the memories."

A very loyal and satisfied customer."
