Blue awarded Wellington Chamber of Commerce "Business of the Year"
Celebrating nearly 10 years in Ridley's Market is just one of Blue's few accomplishments in the booming town of Wellington, Colorado. At the end of September, we helped celebrate the new bike racks placed throughout downtown, made possible by the Blue Foundation and its $10,000 Do Gooders donation. That's the thing about giving. We don't do it because we want recognition or glory, we do it because it’s the right thing to do. We toasted a brilliant effort, lead large in part by our present and former branch managers in Wellington, David and Janell and had out sights set on the next big accomplishment for Wellington. On October 7, during the annual Wellington Chamber of Commerce celebration at Terry Bison Ranch, Blue was awarded Wellington's Business of the Year. An unexpected surprise, but one we fully dedicate to the crew in our Wellington branch.
Just 11 miles north of Fort Collins, we don't like to think of Wellington as just the "bedroom community" it’s often referred to by larger communities. Wellington has been good to us and a decade has allowed us to see not only a housing boom, but also the town growing alongside it. Businesses like the Old Colorado Brewery have transformed our sleepy town and programs like the Wellington Main Streets Program has allowed Blue to become involved in economic and infrastructure development. The residents who live here are visiting local store more often than not. Above anything, it's been rich with past and present Blue employees who have done remarkable things in our grocery store branch. They've joined boards and volunteered countless weekends for community events. They show their passion each day for working and serving members at Blue, and they match it with an equal belief in our town's future.
So, here's to you, David, Janell, Lin, Luis, Janghwan, and Kelsey - Wellington's Business of the Year rock star employees - we could not have made it this far without you!
