Blue breaks ground on World Headquarters
We are excited to start building our World Headquarters

Blue shovels kick up blue dirt at our World Headquarters Groundbreaking!
In the heart of Cheyenne will be the future home of Blue Federal Credit Union’s (Blue) World Headquarters. The largest credit union headquartered in the state of Wyoming has broken ground in the midst of demolition of the entire 8 acres of the Cole’s Shopping Center located off Pershing Boulevard and Converse Avenue. The unveiling was made at their groundbreaking ceremony that took place late this afternoon, May 11 from 4pm to 7pm. Blue was honored to have over 1,200 attendees made up of members, dignitaries, special guests from the Cole family, and community stakeholders.
Blue’s board of directors and executive leadership have been working on this community transformation since late 2017. Blue started in Cheyenne 68 years ago as a small credit union on F.E. Warren Air Force Base. Today, it is the largest credit union headquartered in Wyoming with $1.1 billion in assets serving over 85,000 members worldwide.
Blue’s commitment to Cheyenne includes a passion for revitalization. Its World Headquarters is a gift to the community and employees. It is Blue’s authentic purpose to become a catalyst for positive change that will impact members, employees and the communities they serve. The new facility design is a campus style to include the headquarter building, a new Blue branch, a community center and retail space. There will be open outdoor space and community facilities for public use. It really is all about Blue and You.
“We are thrilled that the wait is over and we can get started to build our world headquarters in a place we all call home. The vision I share with the Board of Directors and our executive leadership team is to build a unique work environment where we work hard, have fun and win for our members,” said Stephanie Teubner, Blue’s CEO. Blue’s commitment to Cheyenne in helping revitalize special places for the capital city was another reason Blue selected the Cole’s Shopping Center site. The primary structure on the current site has remained empty and been deteriorating since 2016 with several surrounding businesses closing their doors shortly after.
“We’re building a platform for the future health of our town,” said Teubner. “It’s a renewed commitment that will make a substantial impact and create a place for our younger generations to work.”
The campus will be designed to house all of Blue’s key operational employees including lending, administration, marketing, training, and many others. Over 170 employees will initially occupy the space with the ability to expand the campus as the credit union grows. Member services staff will remain intact at their current locations and all branches in Wyoming and Colorado will remain open after the headquarters is built with some administration space to become leased to other business tenants.
