Frequently Asked Questions

We have compiled a list of some of your most frequent questions as it relates to our merger.

  • Why did you merge?

We operate in regions where there is tremendous competition between financial service providers. Both credit unions were well-capitalized and had a solid membership base. By merging, Blue can achieve greater size and economies of scale that will help us compete, continue to grow and ensure long term value for our members, employees and the communities that we serve.

  • Will my Credit Card and Debit Card still work?

Yes, your credit card and debit card will continue to work during the merger process. You will continue using your debit and/or credit card, but will be reissued EMV Chip credit and debit cards from the credit union in 2016. We will communicate with members accordingly.

  • Will I have to change my checks?

Former Warren FCU members will not need to obtain new checks as a result of this merger. If you are a former CFCU member, we recommend that you order checks as soon as possible to reflect the new routing number 307070034. You can do this through online banking or by stopping into a branch.

  • Will my member number(s) change?

A limited amount of member number(s) may be affected. However, if a change is necessary, we will contact you well in advance of any modification to your member number(s).

  • What is the routing number?

Blue Federal Credit Union's routing number is 307070034 – and will be the routing number for all members.

  • What will this merger mean to me?

Members will experience little change. You will continue to receive the same great products and services you have grown to expect. Members will benefit from the combination of branch locations and future growth in Northern Colorado and Southeast Wyoming.

  • Will my accounts still be federally insured by the NCUA?

Yes, your eligibile accounts will remain insured by the National Credit Union Share Insurance Fund up to $250,000, just as they are today.

  • Will this affect my membership in the credit union?

No. Once a member, always a member. All select employee groups, members and their families will continue to be eligible for membership and enjoy all the same great services and the additional benefits from the combined credit union.

  • Will the strong community support change?

We are proud of our roots and commitment to give back to the communities in which we serve. This commitment will continue to be a priority as Blue takes shape. We believe in the credit union philosophy of “people helping people” and look forward to expanding our reach with staff members who “Do Good by Changing lives.”

  • What if I have more questions?

We will provide regular updates on our website and in our newsletter. If you have other questions or concerns not addressed here, feel free to email us at support@bluefcu.com.
